906 Poster Series

The area code for Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is 906, and each of these posters celebrate different cities in the U.P. Each one features a natural setting decorated with hidden references, such as the top of the Superior Dome represented in the shape of a Sun in the Marquette poster. They also feature animals native to the area, such as black bears, wolves, and whitetail deer. Each decoration above the city names also corresponds to an important or iconic building in that particular location. For example, the Marquette label also features an outline of the Superior Dome.

Spring 2022 Posters

“Persephone”: Featuring a fawn centered before purple mountains and plants, this piece depicts several motifs that are associated with Spring, and with the Greek goddess Persephone. Traditionally, Persephone is represented with lavender, daisies, and colors such as purple, pink, yellow, and indigo.

“Blue Salamander”: This poster features the outline of a blue-spotted salamander, and within it, an illustration of Presque Isle park in Marquette, MI. Every Spring, the road is closed through Presque Isle so that the salamanders are able to safely migrate. This poster celebrates the salamanders, Presque Isle, and the efforts to protect them during their annual migration.

Endangered Species series

This series depicts illustrations of six different Michigan species that are either listed as threatened or endangered as of 2020. These designs are meant to be printed either as pins or patches. The variety of species in this series demonstrates only a small sample of the species that are currently threatened or endangered. Further updates may be made as species are either added or removed to these lists.
